Success Stories

Christmas Dinner

“I write to thank you for the excellent, ready prepared Xmas dinner delivered to us on Xmas Eve. Everything about it was perfect. I was particulary taken up with the beef wellington, but there were no criticisms from any of the 13 of us about any aspect of it, the meat, veg, sauces, puddings etc, one poor soul wasn't too keen on apricot stuffing but that is a matter of taste. My only nit picking comment might be that there was far too much food! and as a Yorkshire man I wonder if I could have saved money by only ordering for about 10 people?! Seriously it was a good idea and I am sure that it will catch on, so prepare to work next Xmas, to have a full Xmas dinner, prepared and mostly cooked, with no prep and little washing up. Wonderful. Nothing else would have worked in my small kitchen.”

Marquees FAQ

Do you supply just the Marquee?
No, we can supply all the finishing touches including furniture, lighting, carpets, dance floor, flooring, bars, seat covers and catering if you require from Poppy Caterers.

How long is a marquee hire period?
The typical length of the hire of a marquee is for 4 to 5 days dependant upon customer’s arrangements and requirements.

Can marquees be opened in warm weather?
Yes. The walls of our marquees can be easily opened and secured. Our staff will show you how to do this.

Do marquees have to go onto grass?
No. Our marquees are aluminium framed marquees which can be erected on any surface; each marquee has the option of an integral wood floor being fitted.

Will the marquee damage my lawn?
Temporarily, yes. Grass that has been covered for several days will not look its best, but recovery is swift, we always take care not to damage plants or flower beds, we can even build flower beds and shrubs into the marquee.

Can you hire the marquee and catering together?
Yes. You can hire the marquee as well as the catering or have the option of only the marquee or catering service, we are very flexible in our approach to our customer’s needs and requirements, and we work with all our customers to ensure we meet both their expectations and budget.

Could a marquee damage cables or pipes running underneath the site?
We always check with customers, on the site of the marquee, we check for low surface pipes and cables during our initial site visit.

Yes. Poppy Caterers are insured for £5 million public liability; please see our terms and conditions.

Are marquees suitable in winter?
Yes. Today’s modern marquees are built to British Standards, decked out with raised wooden floors and heating systems our marquees are ideal venues for Christmas, New Year Parties and Winter Weddings.

What is the difference between lined and unlined marquees?
Lined marquees are more luxurious and are an essential finishing touch to a traditional wedding. An unlined marquee shows the PVC walls with the aluminium structure visible.

What colour are your marquees?
Poppy marquees are all white PVC, made from materials that conform to British Standard specifications and are fully fire resistant.

Can I alter the specification of my marquee?
